Capturing Books - The Idea of Capture
Carniga melon started a company called recapture to digitize books. The idea is that as people are typing these captures, they are also helping todigitize books. They take all the words that the computer cannot recognize in these scans, and we get people to read them for us while they're typing capthus on their net. It's count of the second round of captures is a system called recapture.
Luis von Ahn (@luisvonahn) is an entrepreneur and computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University. He is known for inventing CAPTCHAs, being a MacArthur Fellow ("genius grant" recipient), and selling two companies to Google in his 20's.
