Clisson is obviously Napoleon, and judging by the tale he spun, we can get the sense of the type of person he is. Eugenie is a character based on Desiree Claree, Napoleon's former fiancée. The young officer, Berville, is based off of Jean Bernadot,. They hated each other, but it was a love-hate relationship. In Napoleon's eyes,Jean Bernadot is a necessary evil.
