The Reconstruction of a Pre-Astec Site
The Spanish conquistadors took it for granted that Texcote Xingo was entirely the work of the Aztecs. Author Marco Vigato believes the evidence suggests that's exactly what happened. The rock was up very hard at the type of porphyry stone. Some parts of the site clearly show evidence of erosion. These were almost certainly a pre-austic site. It was simply a reoccupied and reused.
