The Importance of at Least One Unprovoked Seizures
The definition of epilepsy requires the occurrence of at least one epileptic seizure. In practice that usually means either epilepsy forms discharges on EEG or an abnormal MRI or physical exam or the third a diagnosis of an epilepsy syndrome. There are other non-seizure manifestations of epilepsy and those can include neurobiological, cognitive, psychosocial and social consequences such as language regression typically in childhood.
