Kant's Philosophy and the Enlightenment

Kant's philosophy is historically situated in relation to rationalism, the rationalism of lit-liveness, and empiricism. This is how Kant really got a foothold in being able to bring forward a whole system of metaphysics at a time when it wouldn't have been taken seriously. He has actual primary philosophical concern regarding the enlightenment, the notion of reason because this is what the enlightenment is built on.
