The Importance of Zero Tolerance in School

All these kids come from really dangerous parts of the city. When you live like that constantly, your cortisol is just pumping through your veins because you are always in fear of something happening. And all of my students have access to weapons or know someone who I mean, it's very easy for them to access that stuff if they wanted to. So when you just live in that environment where, where death or violence is just the norm, you know, it changes like you're brain. It really changes how you think about life. You kind of develop the survivalist mentality, which is what I feel like I see a lot with the fighting and stuff like that. That's no way to live
