Sociologists found that children from the lower socioeconomic spectrum were more likely to arrive at school with smaller vocabularies. The message in this kind of research is unambiguous: It's not the toys in the house that make the difference, it's the words in their heads. If you have a baby and you have a stroller that causes your baby to look away from you, go buy a new stroller and get one where your baby is facing you.
