Howard Kurtz: Ideas come from all sorts of places. When I know I've got a novel though when two or three of those ideas start to stick together and start to have an interesting chemistry. A great example is Mistborn in which I had one idea for a series of books where the Dark Lord had defeated the hero of prophecy and taken over the world.
