What Are the Differences Between the Mainline and the Evangelical Church?

We're going to talk about a couple of your most recent works, which I imagine were written in the last year or two. The similarities are that both the mainline church and generation ago and now the evangelical church more recently have essentially hooked themselves up to a particular political program. It has, as at least in the public's mind, the evangelical church is seen as having hooked up to the Republican Party especially a very conservative wing of the Republican Party. But whereas the mainline church jettisoned Orthodox doctrine, it jettisoning the idea of the authority of the scripture and the deity of Jesus Christ. And therefore I have little or no real hope for any kind of renewal with the mainline
