How the Brain Perceives the World

This is the most detailed slide, and i won't unpack it all. O the idea here is the brain's predictions about what's going on indeed, flow in this top down direction from the inside out. And then sensory signals coming in the outside in bottom up direction, what we used to thinking of as the inpet i maybe, conveying the information about the world. Actually, these signals just convey errors. They convey the difference between what the brain expects and what it gets at every level of processing within the brain. perception becomes a process the brain continually updating its predictions to try and minimize prediction error.
