The Reality of Over Regulation and Under Regulation
AI is a technology that can both be used for good in discovery and creativity, but also can be used for bad by people. The industry and the government are in conversations right now about what you want to regulate. What I think we can do is come to an agreement on extreme and existential risks of AI. These are the ones I've arbitrarily said 10,000 people or more deaths. And there's evidence that these systems will, over time, not today but over time, be capable of such harm In biology, cyber, and other cases.
