How Do Markets Get Into a Portfolio?

Markets get into a portfolio based on two factors. One is liquidity and one is diversification. We love the diversification we get in all our other markets. The currencies, well, we're short every one of em. And commodities? Well, we just came out of a period where we literally long every commodity except our friend cocoa or something,. Or the hogs in the cattle. So wait a second. Stocks are not the only things that go to one, or we'll get lopsided. That's why i wouldn't do that. Half your portfolio, or a third of your portfolio in stocks is totally should be driven by the diversification qualities of that sector.
