Theory of gousean curvature explains why corrugated iron works the way it does. Gaus's theorem says that once wiggles are put on an iron, it always remains flat. It can't sag as badly as a flat sheet would - and likewise cardboard is much more rigid than flat cardboard ever would be. The thing i really miss that we should have talked about is quadratic reciprocity,. But i think it was just too hard core.
