Learning to Speak a Second Language

Yossianne White is a socio-linguist at University College Utrecht in the Netherlands. She studies how accents change. We basically learn a set of sounds when we're a baby. And then if we try and learn a second language later on, we kind of have to make do with the sounds that we've got. My nephew hadn't learned how to even say anything more than dada by two. So it's extraordinary to think that his brain had already noted every sound he might need to speak.
