The only time before appomatox that an army is destroyed. A hood's forces were surrendering by hundreds, by thousands. In a few cases, they didn't want to do it any more. They'd had enough. And i think it really did show the johnson and the hood method doesn't work. Because when you're ten years old we'll be hearing about how why this charge of people killed each other in battle works. I don't want to over-do it but there's the idea of honour coming into its own again. It was remarkable in that he was one of the few people who actually got on horseback and charged right up to the federal fortifications
