How Simulation Has Transformed Science?

Computational and numerical methods have really become a third way of understanding so many systems. You can't solve the problem of figuring out what kind of gravitational wave signature will be provided by two colliding black holes. So in some sense, just that ability to do simulation has transformed not just physics but it's transformed all of science. It's like you're able to take a system specification which is very broad and then answer questions about specific behaviours under specific circumstances.
