Are You a Miner?
A young woman from Michigan moved to San Francisco for a fresh start after her husband died. The city is ridiculously expensive, and basic groceries cost three times as much as back home. A miner at a restaurant asks if she'd like him to do your laundry in exchange for 20 cents an item. He starts unbuttoning his shirt right there in the restaurant with several of his companions who continue eating in their long underwear. "I might get my shirt washed every week for that, here," he says.
