The Effect of Convenience on Friendships

I think the predisposition of friendships is convenience and time. The time that you could spend building a friendship, rather it's based now very much on catch-ups where we actually lack a lot of bonding in catch-ups. So, wouldn't it just be a really drawn-out grief of a loss of a friend or a loss of that incidental run-in and that time? I wonder a ton of people, I know I certainly feel that personally.
