The History of Venture Capital
There has been essentially no meaningful innovation in venture capital over those 50 years. Big checks, more money was the big innovation as far as innovation goes. What the VC does with a robust market and lots of data is very different than what they used to do. Access is what the venture industry now lives on, not identification. It wasn't about finding the diamond on the rough, found the musician at the music bar that no one knew about,. it was about momentum investing and BC became about momentum investing which created a bubble.
