Identifying the Cell Receptor for SARS-CoV-2 in Nature Microbiology

SARS-CoV-2 was the first coronavirus to be identified as a receptor. Scientists were able to identify it by using gene synthesis, which is much cheaper than making whole spike sequences. They can now use this chimeric spike protein on other viruses for pseudotyping or so whatever they're infecting them with.
