The Difference Between Personal Income and Median Income

So we had personal income. That's income earned from all sources combined in the median is $38,000. Then we had usual earnings. That's wages and salaries only. And that's full time workers only. And then we have family income, the income to a family, the median there is 89,000. And now we've got household income. This, of course, includes families, but it also includes people living in the same household or housing unit who aren't related. The median there is 71,000,. less than the median income for families. Median household market income. So their interest counts, capital gains counts, wages, but no government benefits, no social security
