Introduction

Jennifer White is a professor in the School of Child and Youth Care at the University of Victoria, Canada. Her current research focus centers itself around contemporary discourses of youth suicide prevention. She is one of the original founders of the critical suicideology network which explores alternatives to the biomedical understanding of suicidality. Jennifer served for seven years as the director of the Suicide Prevention Information Resource Center,. Mental Health Evaluation and Community Consultation Unit  at the University of British Columbia.
