The Moral Crusade of Polly Polly
The 18th amendment passed on January 16th, 1919, prohibiting the production, transport and sale of liquor. In New York City, the 10,343 license bar of 1919 were replaced by more than 15,000 speakeasies by February 1920. All device trades, alcohol, prostitution, drugs have survived countless moral crusades and they will continue it too. Making it always, always is a financial boon for criminal classes and a financial stressor for governments.
