Tennessee Williams' play is set in the 1950s in Mississippi and there this one bedroom has just a giant bed in it. It's not because these people love giant beds no one in this play is like oh there was a great sale on my giant bed yeah no it is, it is a play about this is a Mississippi king that is bigger than all the other beds.
