Susan: I remember feeling great resonance with the things that she talked about. She and her husband moved to Salt Lake City in 1951, but they were not completely welcomed as a Japanese American. They only succeeded in purchasing land for a home because a friend sold them some of their own properties. Geraldie: Why when I read Chaco's words now, do they impact me almost in a different way than when I heard her speak them? Susan: Could that be a reflection on my own journey and the way that I see things differently?
