Is There Nothing Beyond the Text?
In a sense, it's a bit like close reading. You go for such weird interpretations and run with them. And derider was an incredibly close reader. He doesn't believe you can have a truly coherent text. There's always going to be these gaps,. The fact that theyaremissing means something about their text. So would it be fair to describe him as a kind of linguistically obsessed sceptic? Sceptic, i question whether he's a sceptic. But we need truth as that anchor point. We need to be looking for something, or we're just wandering about. Expresses something about being human without necessarily getting to truth.
