In 1959, Union Town, Pennsylvania for the high school educated white guy was that he was protected from competition. Europe was still in shambles. The opening up jobs, immigrants and women, et cetera, all of that stuff is of benefit. So some of the suffering of the white working class guy is because they lost their special privilege that they didn't deserve.
