Wright: As an American, it seems to me like of course the vice president would replace the president. But in some cases where there is no succession procedure in the constitution, they just don't mention it at all. They don't mention what happens if the dictator were to die or be incapacitated,. There's absolutely no back of plan detailed. Wright: A lot of leaders do not want a constitution to specify succession rules because they're afraid of the crown prince problem.
