The Model S has been equipped with 3G for its data connection since the car released. Back in June, it was observed by some users on the TMC forum that 4G LTE had started to sneak into the car without Tesla telling anyone. And so I suspect at for just another three grand, they're going to get a lot of people checking that checking that 90 D box.
