CS Fundamentals Are Hard to Catch in the Interview Process
I agree with a lot of that. We don't do whiteboards. I'd rather not miss understanding how you would work day to day on a real problem we're going through. It's the number one thing that I'll go back to recruiting with if I'm passing on a candidate. The person was clearly so nervous. Sometimes it just doesn't work, and you get up in the zone or it's just difficult with that person. That's where I think we probably have the highest miss rate for CS fundamentals.
