LZ: I think that the spirit of elitism is cultivated in an evangelical subculture because we crave as Christians the favor and the respect of the world. LZ: By cosying up with these cultural elites, we think that we are doing a service to the kingdom of God by becoming all things to all men. That doesn't honor God. A faithful Christian witness will be content to be like Christ.
