This is the sense that lust can reach a stage where it can look at almost anything and want it get sexual satisfaction from it desire to possess it. Dante confronts these different qualities in souls he meets but also within himself and is able to see through them see how they are distortions. Finally comes to the seventh terrace now this is in a way the culmination of all this awakening
