The Importance of Redundancy in GPS Devices

The times when you would need navigation most of your most dire situation is also usually the worst conditions for an electronic device. It's important to remember that we want to have redundancy in our devices. I like to be able to have multiple devices recording a track at the same time. The reason why we have paper maps is because again, they could all fail or the system could be shut down.
