PARDS with Dr. Nadir Yehya and the Cribsiders--Part 2 Intro to Ventilatory Strategies

PedsCrit

CHAPTER

Palics and the Role of Title Volumes in Ventilation

The pediatric practitioners don't actually measure plateau pressure with any regularity. The most common modes of ventilation we use use decelerating flow patterns and pip is much more commonly tracked than plateau pressure. And different institutions have kind of read the palic recommendations of keeping your plateau pressures less than like 28. It's not clear how much equipoise there would be to do 12 per kilo anymore as a comparator arm I think that that legitimately has been proven to be damaging but certainly something in the 10 per kilo range.
