The Last Stage in Climate History

Two million years ago Greenland was 11 to 70 degrees Celsius warmer than today. Scientists were able to dig into the mud and pull out not bone fossils or bits of fossil wood, but molecular fossils. DNA showed a very diverse ecosystem with cedar trees, large trees, pine, willow, and animals such as mastrathon - an extinct elephant that no one have ever dreamt of.
