MRI and the Infant Brain
The infant brain when it's born is extraordinarily well organized. You already see all of the sensory systems are properly in place in the proper spots. And this idea of a sort of malleable brain or blank slate is just completely false just by looking at anatomy. The baby is about three times slower than the adult in terms of propagating information in the cortex, at least three times slower.
