Historically, progressivism is in the United States a little bit different from how it's defined now. Bernie Sanders and Barbara Lee were the original founders of the progressive congressional caucus in the US House of Representatives. Their platform really was about public education, free public education, universal health care for everybody. So that's really what progressivism is today in the U.S.
