Ventral Is a Neuroception of Safety
In polyvagal theory, there are many parts of our vagus nerve. We have ventral Vegas which is the system that really brings us into social engagement and to feeling safe with others and on our own. And then we have another place in the nervous system, which again is Vegas, but it's dorsal vagal. The hallmark of ventral is a neuroception of safety. There can be the calm, but there can also be the,. the passion and the joy. So lots of different flavors; I love talking about them.
