The Super Ego and the Identity of Freud

Freud acknowledges that sexual identification goes along a spectrum and they're the masculine and feminine qualities exist along a spectrum. Now with the identification with the father, we see a new term enter the picture here: 'super ego' The super ego instead of being a mediating factor between the id and the external world, the super ego is going to be much more conscious to us. It very much resonates with our identity specifically our outward facing wants and needs which are determined in advance according to what we've been permitted to do from childhood.
