Is There Any Economic Downside to This Jubilee?
There's 22 million pounds in national lottery money, ear marks for community events and various other projects. There's a new three million pound fund that you can apply to if you'd like to spruce up your local village hall. Oh, and most primary school children are getting a commemorative book about the queen's reign. That's reportedly costing 12 million pounds. One report does suggest we could spend up to a billion pounds between us over the four days on food, drink, merchandise, bunting and so on.
