Lineage and Group Selection

Ildoni: Survival and mating make sense as an obsession, but probably the biggest factor in whether or not your genes are a hundred generations from now is whether the population that you are a part of persists. We have gotten pretty good at thinking about individual level adaptation and fitness. But if i just even take the concept of group selection, as opposed just individual selection, and say there was no such thing as an individual that got selected for that was not an effective part of a group? That whole evolutionary dynamics break. I certainldoni had to say it,. have to say it, so it's clear to to our listeners. Wel i appreciate your doing that.
