The Kaiahoga River Fire

On june 20 second, 19 69, sparks from a train passing over one of the trestles that crossed the kayahoga river ignited oil. The city of cleveland was not particularly tramatized by the burning river. But there was an increasing awareness of the need to clean up the river. Stokes platform during the election focused on jobs, housing and attempt to revitalize the city.
