The Gear Shift in China

After taxation the United States is currently a more equal society than China as measured by the genie coefficient in Sweden. There's huge scope for China to actually introduce a powerfully redistributive system that would provide it with revenue flows which would then enable it to build out the welfare structure. The gear shift in China is particularly extreme because nowhere has ever invested as intensively as they have and nowhere now faces the problem of transitioning 1.4 billion used to economic success to a new model of transition no one really has successfully modeled.
