The Different Views of History and War in the 1965 Normalization Treaty

In 1965, Japan and South Korea were trying to normalize relations. One of the main issues that they couldn't reconcile was legality of colonization. The 2015 comfort women agreement has been a source of controversy for both countries. In 2018, there is dispute among causality about who did what but it escalated very quickly.
