Is There a Cooperative Problem Solving Approach to Cooperation?

Sally Kohn: Let's talk about some of your studies on elephant social cognition. We know about cooperation in the animal world, but we don't know a lot about how, about the cognition that underlies some of these cooperative behaviors. The only time that cooperation completely stopped is when elephants were able to monopolize the table and eat food alone. You can imagine you can't do that with elephants. I've seen elephants pull 747 aircrafts down runways. So if you're interested in understanding how an animal is thinking, ask them questions,. And when you design experiments, look at flexibility and try to see whether they are flexible or not.
