The Risks of Speculative Methods
Tension between playful engagements and responsibility to the future is where that big risk is. The claims you need to make in order to incorporate speculative work into a research bid, for example, are not necessarily that compatible with these kind of playful approaches. But I actually think one of the biggest risks isn't asking good futures questions because without them there's going to be inevitably a lot of ideas and perspectives and possibilities that don't come into being.
