The State of Michigan's Response to the Flint Water Crisis
HHS Director Nick Lyon: "I do not think that it rises to the level of a statewide emergency" Governor Rick Schneider declared his own state of emergency and requested $55 million in assistance from the federal government so Flint could install lead free pipes throughout the city. The move was quite a departure from the state's recent responses. It was almost like Governor Snyder knew something that the citizens of Flint did not.
