The Importance of Identity

The moment you say, I am a professor, it becomes really hard to divorce yourself of that identity. To define yourself in a singular fashion is to do yourself a tremendous disservice. And the more you can see yourself not as a finished product with this like perfect set of unchanging beliefs, the better off you will be.
