The Origins of Flood Basalt
The deck and traps are one of the largest volcanic rock formations anywhere in the world. It was discovered quite a while ago because it's like black and there's also some really cool green sort of gemstone like glassy rock stuff going on. The eruptions probably started just before dinosaurs went extinct and ended somewhere between 65 and 66 million years ago. There's a good chance that the majority of the eruptions happened after dinosaurs had already gone extinct.
