The Mightleine Affair

The Echolosia simply assumed they were guilty based on Poccus' opinions, and there is no evidence to suggest that the majority of Athenians weren't in agreement. Also 1000 was not an insignificant number, as scholars believe that mightleine had about 10,000 citizens at this point. The Athenian response reflected the newer, aggressive spirit that began to challenge the older, moderate approach by Paracles and his associates. In the next episode we will start to see the departure from Paracles' defensive base strategy to a more ambitious, offensive one.
